The Maldives surf is probably one of the best places to be if you want to surf good waves. If you’re looking for consistent waves around the Southern Atolls of the Maldives it’s the best to surf March and April. The West side provides waves all year long so options all over but from May to October with SW winds some breaks will be blown out. The Maldives surf conditions (East side) are the best and consistent March – November. Off season surf is still very possible but less consistent and please request for best options.
North Male / Central Atolls and Southern Atolls of the Maldives provide also good waves in the months March, April, October and November. Maldives surf is probably one of the best in the world.
Temperature
The temperature in the Maldives is quite stable for most of the year, the temperatures are between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius (77 and 87 degrees Fahrenheit). The water temperature is about the same. If you want to make sure you’re avoiding the rain season, try and book in the period from January till April. The chance for rain showers in the months May till November is higher. Surfing in the Maldives is most of the time better then back home. Make sure you’ll bring a UV-rashvest and enough sunscreen to avoid to look like a lobster after a day.

The 20 Atolls in the Maldives were formed around the edges of volcanic peaks creating the characteristic ring–shaped atolls with a true surfing playground with reef passes amongst the 1.200 islands.
