Six Senses Latitude looks over Ying Yang, a Righthander First surfed on a boat trip with Pat O’Connell and Satoshi Sekino, Yin Yang is a long outside reef corner right in a pass. Outside is a mellow wall, often cross shore, with safe rides in deep water. Then, the wave bends in the corner, mush out for a while, then wraps into one of the most critical sections in the Maldives. Inside section can be long and tubular, guys getting barreled 3 times.
Six Senses Latitude Laamu consists of 100 luxurious Beach Villas, Water Villas and Water Villa Suites, elegantly designed to provide an unparalleled level of privacy, comfort and luxury.
Villas are elegantly designed with a focus on natural materials creating a soft yet stylish retreat for guests.
Dining & bars
Six Senses Maldives offers over 6 top class restaurants and several nice bars. Best conditions for Vodi are when the wind blows from a north to easterly direction. This left-hander becomes perfect when there is a light breeze. The wave is fast and challenging, but still surfable for the intermediate to advanced surfer. When the swell is small the waves are still fun and works good for fun-boards, single-fins and longboards. Even the beginners can enjoy!
This wave is exclusive for Niyama guests so never to crowded! In walking distance, and easy access. If you would like to stay as close to the wave, please request and we’ll try to get an accommodation as close as possible.
This is the spot to be surfed when the wind direction is northwest. Best surf conditions at this spot if the wind is westerly to northwesterly or with no wind at all. Kasabu is located on just across of the channel from Niyama’s Play island, approximately 10 minutes away by boat. The perfectly shaped reef offers world-class waves that are suitable for both beginners and advanced surfers
Enjoyable surf can be found more to the north towards the lagoon, waves are easier and more suitable for beginners.
Hocus Pocus / Screaming Kids
If it’s maxing out at Kasabu and Vodi this is the only place that still works. Not easy but a good right-hander that provides barrels.

Some of the best surf breaks of the Maldives are just a short boat trip away from the resort. Depending on the swell, wind and local forecast, we will take you to the most suitable one, which are:
– Blue Bowls
(10 mins by speedboat)- Blue Bowls is the most flexible right, inside the pass and protected from SW-W Winds. This right wave is more for an advanced surfer. More of a point style wave, it has good a length and nice bowly sections for performance moves. All swells, all tides and all sizes.
– Five Islands
(across the channel) – Five Islands is also a right hander that breaks hard and hollow on the shallow reef inside. The outside section encourages deep takeoffs into racy walls and handles the biggest swells at all tides. This wave is the most suitable for a more experienced surfer.
– Love Charms
(across the channel) – are actually several reliable lefts, which can handle Eastern winds and any size of swell. Low tide is the best when it is small, soft and broken into two distinct sections. When the swell gets bigger it turns in a longer, hollow wave. On this left wave experience is required as well.
– Tiger Stripes
(15 mins by speedboat) – The reef that give a striped effect is why it’s called Tigers. The Tricky take offs into a long speedy wall before committing to an inside tube section that wraps and peters out in the channel. Unimpressive when small, it always seems to be bigger than everywhere else. All tides, all variations of S Swells and any N Wind.
